Strategy plan
A strategy plan is a structured document — themes, tactics, posting cadence, success metrics — that captures the next month or quarter of content strategy and drives downstream brief and draft generation.
A monthly strategy plan typically includes: 3–5 themes the brand will focus on, the posting cadence per channel, the content mix percentages, the success metrics that define a good month, and 2–3 specific tactical bets being tested. The plan becomes the input to brief generation: every brief on the calendar should map to one of the themes; if it doesn’t, either the theme is missing or the brief shouldn’t be there.
Strategy plans are usually generated quarterly with monthly refreshes, or monthly with quarterly checkpoints. AI tools that generate strategy plans from a brand’s existing library, performance data, and trend signals shorten the loop from weeks to hours.
A strategy plan that lives in someone’s head produces inconsistent content. A written plan that drives brief and draft generation produces compounding consistency.
