Brief generation
Brief generation is the AI-assisted creation of content briefs — short documents that specify a piece’s hook, key message, format, channel, intent, and rationale — before any draft is written.
Briefs sit between strategy and draft. A strategy says "we want to own the topic of brand voice"; a brief says "write a LinkedIn carousel for Tuesday with the hook ‘brand voice isn’t a config field’, target audience: founders, intent: thought leadership". Without briefs, the AI generator has only the prompt; with briefs, it has structured guidance every time.
Generated briefs typically come from one of two inputs: a topic the user supplies (the system fills in format, hook, angle) or a strategy plan + content gap (the system picks topics and fills the rest in). The brief then drives the draft, often with a one-click "generate from brief" handoff.
Briefs are the unit of editorial planning. Without them, AI generators get vague prompts and produce generic output; with them, they get specific direction and produce shippable drafts.
